Educational assistance: a fundamental mission of the Agency for French Education Abroad. Under Article L452-2 of the Education Code, AEFE carries out public service missions related to education for French children living outside France. It can grant educational assistance to \"French nationals enrolled in French schools and educational institutions abroad, the list of which is set by a joint decree from the minister responsible for education and the minister responsible for foreign affairs\" (institutions approved by the Ministry of National Education). This assistance helps cover, under certain conditions, all or part of the school fees that families must pay.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"blue\">The School Scholarship System<\/h3>\n<p>This educational assistance is granted based on financial need. It is reserved for French students who are at least three years old, reside with their families abroad, are registered in the global register of French nationals living abroad, and are enrolled in a French educational institution. The family's income must fall within a designated scale, which is defined based on the economic and social situation of each country and reviewed annually. The scholarship application must be renewed each year, and the file must be submitted within the regulatory deadlines set by the diplomatic or consular office.
